1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service govern your membership of HRIN and your use of the HRIN platform at app.thehrin.org, the website at thehrin.org, and any HRIN programme you take part in, including CHAP. HRIN is operated by ClanHQ Private Limited, registered at Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India.
By applying for membership, or by using any part of the platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not apply and do not use the platform.
Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information, and our Community Guidelines set out how members are expected to behave. Both form part of these terms.
2. Who can be a member
HRIN is a closed community for working Human Resources professionals. To be eligible you must be at least 18 years old, be able to enter a binding contract, and work primarily in HR. That includes generalists, specialists, HR business partners, people operations leaders and CHROs.
If HR is not your primary role, you are not eligible. This is the single criterion on which we decline applications, and it is what the community is built on.
Membership is personal to you. You may not share your account, transfer it to anyone else, or hold more than one account.
3. Applications, review and removal
Every application is reviewed by a person before it is accepted, and we aim to respond within 72 hours. We may decline an application where we are not satisfied that HR is your primary role, or where the information given is inaccurate or incomplete. If you believe a decision was wrong, reply to our email and we will look at it again.
We may suspend or remove a member who breaches these terms or the Community Guidelines, who misrepresents who they are or what they do, who uses the community to sell or to recruit in breach of these terms, or whose conduct puts other members at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.
4. Your account and username
You choose a username when you join. Usernames are allocated on a first come, first served basis and become the address of your public profile at app.thehrin.org/p/yourname.
You may not choose a username that impersonates another person or organisation, that you have registered in order to resell, or that is offensive. We may reclaim a username in those cases, and we may reclaim one that infringes somebody else’s rights. We will contact you before doing so wherever we can.
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything done through your account. Tell us at once if you think somebody else has access to it.
5. Public profiles
Your HRIN profile is a public web page. Anybody with the link can open it, including people who are not HRIN members, and search engines may index it. You decide what goes on it, and you can edit or remove any part of it at any time.
Your email address and mobile number are never shown on your public profile. Whether you appear under the open to opportunities filter in the member directory is controlled by a setting that only you can change.
Do not put anything on your profile that you are not free to publish. That includes your employer’s confidential information and personal information about other people.
The member directory is visible only to members whose applications have been accepted.
6. Content you share
You keep ownership of everything you post, upload or publish on HRIN. By sharing it you give us a non exclusive, worldwide, royalty free licence to host, store, reproduce and display it for the purpose of operating the platform and showing it to the people you intended it to reach. That licence ends when you delete the content, except where it has already been seen or is needed for a short period to complete removal from our systems.
You are responsible for what you share, and you confirm that you have the right to share it. Do not post confidential information belonging to your employer or a client, personal information about identifiable individuals such as candidates or colleagues, or anything that infringes somebody else’s rights.
We may remove content that breaches these terms or the Community Guidelines.
7. The Resource Vault
The Resource Vault is a library of documents contributed by members and reviewed before they are published. It is view only. You may read what is in the Vault and use it to inform your own work, but you may not download, copy, republish or circulate Vault material outside HRIN.
If you contribute a document you confirm that you own it or are permitted to share it, that it is not confidential to your employer or a client, and that it does not contain personal information about other people. We may decline or withdraw any contribution.
Vault material is shared by practitioners for the benefit of other practitioners. It is not legal advice and it has not been verified for use in your organisation or jurisdiction.
8. Acceptable use
The Community Guidelines apply in full. In particular, you agree not to:
Sell, advertise or promote a product or service to members, whether directly or by approaching them privately after finding them here. Use the community or the directory to source candidates on behalf of an agency. Scrape, copy or extract member data or profiles, whether by hand or by automated means. Republish elsewhere what another member has shared here, including screenshots. Harass, abuse or misrepresent anybody. Interfere with the platform, attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, or use it in breach of any law.
HR professionals hiring for their own HR teams are a normal part of the community, and the open to opportunities setting exists for that.
9. HRIN Verified and certifications
The HRIN Verified badge is awarded by HRIN, and only by HRIN, to members who have completed a qualifying programme such as a CHAP cohort. It cannot be self awarded, and you may not claim it, imitate it or describe yourself as HRIN Verified unless we have awarded it to you.
Any other certifications you list on your profile are your own statements about yourself. HRIN does not verify them, and listing them here is not an endorsement by us. We may remove a claim that we believe to be false.
10. Our intellectual property
The HRIN name, logo, branding, the platform and everything we publish on it belong to us or to our licensors. Your membership gives you permission to use the platform as a member. It does not give you any right to our brand or our material beyond that, and you may not copy, adapt or reuse them without our written permission.
11. Leaving HRIN
You can leave at any time from your account settings. When you do, we delete your account, your profile and the personal information we hold about you. Copies held in routine encrypted backups are overwritten as those backups cycle out.
Two things survive leaving. Anything another member has already seen or saved is outside our control, and we may keep the minimum record we are required by law to keep. We will not keep an archived copy of your profile for any other reason.
We may close an account under section 3. If we do, the same deletion applies.
12. No professional advice
This is the most important thing on this page. HRIN is a community of practitioners sharing their own experience. Nothing said by a member, and nothing published in the Resource Vault, is legal, financial, medical or professional advice, and it is not given on behalf of HRIN.
Employment law, workplace investigations and matters such as POSH proceedings depend on facts and on jurisdiction. Take qualified advice before you act. You are responsible for any decision you make in your own organisation, and HRIN is not responsible for the outcome.
The platform is provided as it is. We work to keep it available and accurate, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, HRIN is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profit, business, goodwill or data, or for any loss arising from your reliance on something another member has shared. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform changes. If a change materially affects your rights we will tell you by email or on the platform before it takes effect. Continuing to use HRIN after that means you accept the updated terms. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
